In October 2012 the Sri Lanka Federation of the Visually Handicapped celebrated the 43rd International White Cane Day at the Public Library. Ms. Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon, Network on Disability did a presentation on “The significant of the white cane day”. White canes and self employment assistance were distributed among the visually impaired persons on this day.
