ACCESS TO BUILD ENVIRONMENT FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AT UNIVERSITY OF RUHUNA

It was a different experience and a lecture of a difference when the Engineering students of University of Ruhuna, Faculty of Engineering gathered at the lecture hall. Students were educated on “Access to build environment for persons with disabilities”. These Engineering students will be the people in the future who will be designing buildings. Therefore, it is important for them to know the rules and regulations and accessibility facilities which should be provided for persons with disabilities. Manique Gunaratne, Executive Committee Member of the Disability Organisations Joint Front and from The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability and Cyril Siriwardane, Vice President of the Disability Organisations Joint Front conducted the Lecture.
