VALIDATION WORKSHOP ON THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF THE STUDY ON “WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES AND EMPLOYMENT THROUGH THE LENS OF GENDER-RESPONSIVE BUDGETS”

UN Women Sri Lanka commissioned the Centre for Women’s Research (CENWOR) to conduct this research to support government’s ongoing efforts in addressing issues confronted by women with disabilities, especially disadvantages with respect to economic empowerment – an important dimension in disability rights.  Given the uniqueness of this research and significance of the findings, this validation workshop was organised to share the key findings and recommendations, and to receive suggestions/feedback. In addition to that,  an Advance Training on Gender-Responsive Budget (GRB) was conducted by an expert from UNWomen-India .

Ms. Manique Gunaratne and Ayasana Gunasekera of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon, Specialised Training & Disability Resource Centre was invited for the Dissemination Workshop on the Preliminary Results of the study on “Women with Disabilities and Employment through the Lens of Gender Responsive Budgets” which was held at Hotel Janaki in March 2018.
