WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES SPEAK OF THEIR RIGHTS
WITH WOMEN WITH NON-DISABILITIES
The Disability Organisations’ Joint Front organised a programme which brought together
women with disabilities and women with non-disabilities to include women with disabilities
in all agendas for women. The programme was held at Hotel Mirage in December 2019.
Women with disabilities are left behind in majority of the programmes done for women.
Women with disabilities spoke on how important it is to include them to the mainstream for
women in the “Women & Media Collective”. Ms. Manique Gunaratne conducted the session
on “how to include vision impaired women to the mainstream of development”.
