SRI LANKA BROADCASTING CORPORATION GIVES PUBLICITY FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Ms. Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability spoke on “Rights of women with disabilities” on International Women’s Day in March 2017 at the Anduren Eliyata programme produced by Mr. Sujeewa Manage.
In December 2012 Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability did a presentation on “Ethics when dealing with visually impaired persons and status of visually impaired persons” at a press conference for media persons in broadcasting services at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. Several radio channels broadcasted this programme.

In December 2012 Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability did a presentation on “status of visually impaired persons” for media persons working TV channels at Hotel Janaki. Several TV channels telecasted this message on air.
Drafting Committee Member – National Action Plan on Human Rights for Persons with Disabilities
The MEDIA BRIEFING of DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION Career Day 2016 was organized by JCI (Junior Chamber International) Kollupitiya at Mahaweli Centre in October 2016. The discussion was on “why enable equal career opportunities for persons with disabilities”. Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability presented on “how to overcome challenges at work place”. Other speakers were Ishan Jalill, Disability Inclusion Specialist – International Foundation for Electoral Systems, Janitha Rukmal, – Enable Sri Lanka, Isuru Samarage, National President Sri Lanka – Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka (JCISL), Suranga Nanayakkara, Assistant Professor – Singapore University of Technology and Design and Dillon Abraham, JCI Kollupitiya Chapter. This was an opportunity to learn how young people around the world are working to create positive change.

In January 2013 on the new year day Ms. Manique Gunaratne of The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability did a half an hour radio programme at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation titled “Anduren eliyata” (Darkness to light). She spoke about new thoughts for the New Year.
Under the MyRight project of the Disability Organisations Joint Front did a live one hour radio programme titled “Sara prabhagira” at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. Ms. Manique Gunaratne, Executive Committee Member of the Disability Organisations Joint Front and from The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon Network on Disability and Mr. W.M.D. Ratnasekara, General Secretary of the Disability Organisations’ Joint Front spoke on the rights of persons with disabilities and the ratification of the United Nations Convention of Rights of Persons with Disabilities in October 2016.
